Acoustic Neuroma (Schwannoma)

Presentation

74 y/o with assymetric hearing loss.

Image Findings

The T2-weighted image shows a subtle intermediate signal mass in the right internal auditory canal. The T1-weighted images show the mass to have marked, homogeneous enhancement.

Discussion

The acoustic neuroma is the most common cerebellar-pontine angle mass, accounting for 60%-75% of all masses in this region.
