66 y/o man with knee pain over the medial joint.

• T2-weighted sagittal image

Image Findings

A loculated collection of fluid appearing bright on the T2-weighted images extending from the base of the mensicus posteriorly.

Discussion

Meniscal cysts may develop as a result of a torn meniscus acting as a one-way value for joint fluid to flow into the parameniscal tissues.
