A loculated collection of fluid appearing bright on the T2-weighted images just lateral to the proximal fibula of the left leg and in the proximity of the peroneal nerve. Fluid collection is dark on T1-weighted images and shows mild enhancement of the capsule.
Ganglion cysts are locular or multilocular benign, masses filled with mucinous material. Ganglion cysts are commonly related to trauma and may arise from tendons, ligaments, bursae and joint capsules.
